Frequently Asked Questions

Will my alarm accidentally go off in my bag?

No, the alarms are intentionally designed without buttons so that they can’t be accidentally knocked and activated. You need to pull firmly to dislodge the pin from the device, causing it to activate.

What is the difference between the two alarms for sale?

Option 1 introduces our 'Personal Safety Alarm.' The concept behind this alarm involves removing the pin from the device and discarding the top portion, either by throwing it away or concealing it, to hinder the perpetrator's ability to easily silence the alarm.

Option 2 presents our 'Personal Safety Keychain Alarm,' which operates on a similar principle as Option 1. However, in this version, the chain remains attached to the device, reducing the risk of losing it. A demonstration video showcasing this feature is available on the product page.

How will I know when to change the batteries?

The alarm will ‘chirp’ when it requires a battery change.

What kind of batteries does this take?

They take 2 x 3 volt flat button batteries (commonly used in watches) which can be purchased for a few dollars and located in most supermarkets.

How does a personal safety alarm work?

This depends on the style of alarm you choose. To activate the alarm, you will need ti pull the pin by either pulling the chain or pulling the circle at the top of the device. To deactivate, place the pin back into the device.

Can the alarm be easily activated in an emergency?

Yes. In emergency situations, dexterity is low due to trauma responses. This is why we are big advocates of personal safety alarms as they are so simple and easy to use, making them an appropriate option for children too.
